About Next Step College Counseling
Next Step College Counseling (Next Step CC, LLC) helps students and their families successfully navigate all aspects of the college search and admission and financial aid application processes. Families can choose to contract for a discrete set of services (e.g., essay brainstorming and review), billed on an hourly basis, or comprehensive planning and service packages.
Founder and principal Sandra M. Moore, M.A. is a former college admission director who brings a unique combination of professional expertise and an understanding of adolescent development to her practice. She serves as task master, coach, mentor, sounding board, advocate and more, and works with families throughout the Hudson Valley and around the world.
Sandra focuses on student self-assessment as a first, essential step toward expanding her clients' educational horizons. By identifying each student's particular learning style and personality as well as college preferences, she can then match them with the most appropriate post-high-school options, places they not only will enjoy, but also where they will thrive. And she works with students strategically -- making sure that they present their strongest authentic selves as applicants to places where they would be viable candidates -- so as to ensure postive (and affordable!) outcomes, while reducing the level of family stress, especially during senior year.
